Only until 30 November: Apply for study start-up aid!

Only until the end of the month can "first-time students" up to the age of 25 who have started a full-time degree programme this winter semester apply for a one-off grant of 1,000 euros. The following criteria must be met for the application:

  • One of the following eight social benefits must have been received for a period of one month before the start of the programme:
    • Citizen's allowance and training assistance according to § 27 SGB II
    • Housing benefit Benefits according to the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
    • Child allowance (not child benefit)
    • Child and youth welfare benefits (§ 91 SGB VIII)
    • Benefits for living expenses in accordance with § 93 or § 145 Para. 1 SGB XIV
    • Benefits for living expenses (SGB XII - Chapter 3)
    • Basic security benefits in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity (SGB XII - Chapter 4)
  • Proof of receipt of social benefits must be provided in the form of a notification, which must not be older than six months.
  • The application for the study start-up grant must be submitted no later thanthe month after the start of the programme.
  • Study start-up aid can only be applied for online via BAföG-Digital.
