Catering and events

Catering for guests plays a crucial role in making an event a successful experience. With us, you can choose from a wide range of options, from snacks and a selection of homemade soups to a (flying) buffet or a multi-course menu with service at your seat.

All food and drinks are professionally presented and labelled in accordance with legal requirements. Every guest gets a quick overview of the buffet and has a free choice within the menu of individual dietary preferences (e.g. vegan) or personal food intolerances.

A good event is characterised by the fact that the details are also right. When you book us, you receive an all-inclusive package on request, which includes tableware, seating, tablecloths and technical equipment such as a laptop and beamer.

For events for 10 - 1.300 people, the Studierendenwerk Dortmund offers the right location in Dortmund and surrounding area. All locations are easily accessible by car and public transport. Please note that our premises are only rented out in conjunction with a supervisor or service person. You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks. We will be happy to provide you with the exact conditions for our function rooms on request.

Hauptmensa

for 200 - 1.300 people

The main canteen is very suitable for large festivities, parties or end-of-year celebrations. The southern part - accessible through the foyer or a separate staircase - can be separated and used for events. The foyer of the main canteen can be used for separate set-up, e.g. for accreditation stations or for cloakrooms.

Conference Room Calla

for 12 - 100 persons

The restaurant is located directly adjacent to the main canteen. The Calla is excellently suited for events with a festive setting. Two separate rooms can be used for smaller events (12 people each).

Galerie

For 200 - 350 people

The ''Galerie'' is suitable for casual events with buffets. The terrace can also be used for barbecue events in summer.

food fakultät

For 100 - 200 people

The food fakultät is a self-contained complex with a striking two-storeyed architecture. The outdoor area is ideal for barbecue events.

Mensa Süd, Archeteria

For 100 - 250 people

Spacious and bright, the Mensa Süd on the upper floor can be rented separately or in combination with the Archeteria on the ground floor.

The Campus-Treff is a free-standing building belonging to the student union, centrally located on the North Campus, which is available exclusively for your events.

We are happy to provide catering in the form of a buffet directly in the room. If you would like to experience the university atmosphere in the canteen, you can eat individually in the neighbouring main canteen. The conference room has a large window front, which can be darkened, as well as air conditioning on warm days.

What is an event without technology, security and, above all, staff? We advise you on the selection of these important components so that your event is a success.

Service staff
Whether you want to organise a small seminar or a large event - always expect a professional appearance from our service staff! We have been working with established service providers from the region for many years, so that we can also provide staff for large events at any time.
Technology
Our premises are equipped with a wide range of equipment, such as lecterns, microphones, beamers and a sound system. If you would like to install additional stage equipment, lighting or music, we will be happy to advise you!
Security
No large event today can do without a security concept. We will inform you about the legal requirements and draw up a customised requirements profile for your event.
