Funding opportunities at the universities

The universities in the Studierendenwerk Dortmund's area of responsibility also award funds from foundations. Further information can be found on the respective pages:

Jobs

Waiter, taxi driver, babysitter - it's not uncommon for jobs during a degree programme to be more educational than the actual study itself. New experiences away from the university campus ensure personal development, document commitment and interest to future employers - and fill the household budget at the same time. In addition to the notices in the refectory foyer, the following platforms offer jobs for students from the region:

The job portal of the Dortmund local newspaper.
The job portal of the TU Dortmund.
The job portal of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences.
  • jobsundwohnungen.asta-dortmund.de
A job and housing exchange run by the AStA of the TU Dortmund.
The AStA of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences also runs a housing and job exchange.
  • www4.fh-swf.de
A job exchange for students in Soest, Meschede, Hagen, Iserlohn.

By the way: The Studierendenwerk also offers jobs to students, for example as a waitress or kitchen assistant. You can find all offers at www.jobs-studentenwerke.de/dortmund.

Save money with the International Student Identity Card (ISIC)

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is the only card that is recognised worldwide as a student ID. The ISIC card offers the cardholder worldwide recognition of their student status and - in addition to the normal student discounts - grants them access to further discounted offers from the areas of travel, lifestyle, software, education, culture and much more.

You can obtain the ID card online at www.isic.de or at the issuing points on campus. Please bring your current student ID, ID card or passport and a recent passport photo with you when applying.

Culture free of charge at the Dortmund Theatre

Dortmund is rich in culture and a true cultural treasure is the theatre! Students of the TU and FH Dortmund have free admission to many events here. Further information is available from the Dortmund Theatre, at the theatre box office in the opera foyer and via the ticket hotline 0231/50 27 222.
