BAföG: An application that pays off
No doubt: There are more exciting things in student life than applying for BAföG. But if you familiarise yourself a little with the funding under the FederalTraining Assistance Act (BAföG), you will quickly realise the advantages:
- BAföG is very affordable
Half of the monthly BAföG grant is "free". The other half is a non-interest-bearing loan that must be repaid in small instalments five years after the end of the maximum funding period. - Help for the semester abroad
The responsible BAföG office can help finance the tuition fees, costs for the outward and return journey and even increased living costs abroad - depending on the country of travel. - BAföG brings further benefits
BAföG recipients can apply for further financial benefits, for example, exemption from broadcasting fees, or the use of a Telekom social connection.
On premises counselling In order to get your own BAföG application underway or to discuss an existing application in more detail, we offer personal counselling at the Service Centre for Student Financing/BAföG on Tuesdays (9:00-12:00) and Thursdays (13:30-15:30). You do not need an appointment, but please allow some waiting time as we operate with a ticket system.
