The interest-free Daka student loan: Now available for online application!
The Student Union Loan Office (Daka) is launching a digital online application portal. The goal: uncomplicated and quick help for students in financial distress. The loan with a maximum amount of up to 12,000 euros can now be applied for 24/7.
For some students, being able to devote themselves to their studies free of financial worries is not a matter of course. So it's all the better that Daka exists - the loan fund of the 12 student unions in North Rhine-Westphalia. The non-profit organisation has been granting interest-free loans to students in financial need for more than 70 years.
Now Daka is launching a new digital online application portal. The portal allows students to apply quickly and easily around the clock. Students can apply for up to 12,000 euros in loans from Daka; this can be up to 1,000 euros per month.
Help for the semester abroad
In addition to its student loans, Daka also grants loans of up to 6,000 euros specifically for semesters abroad. Repayment usually starts twelve months after the end of disbursement, but can also be flexibly deferred even further.
"We are pleased to be able to support students in financial need even better with the introduction of the online platform," says Dr Christoph Holtwisch, Chairman of the Board of Daka. "The online application portal represents the consistent further development of our existing offer and corresponds to the usage behaviour of young people." The Darlehenskasse der Studierendenwerke e.V. (Daka) is the largest loan fund of student unions nationwide. In the most recent student loan test by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), it once more received an excellent rating.
