Bread rolls, doughnuts and coffee: Dortmund's biggest breakfast
The Studierendenwerk Dortmund welcomed more than 500 guests to Dortmund's biggest breakfast last Saturday. With bread rolls, Berliners, fried eggs and many other delicacies, the team in the main canteen offered visitors the perfect start to the TU Dortmund University Open Day. After a three-year break due to coronavirus, the popular event on campus returned for the first time.
"For us as a partner of the university, the biggest breakfast is a matter close to our hearts. So it's all the better that our guests were able to enjoy a varied programme again this year," says Johannes Zedel, acting managing director of the Studierendenwerk.
And the breakfast was certainly big considering the dimensions. Over 900 bread rolls, more than 300 croissants, 600 grilled sausages, almost 300 eggs, over 8 kilograms of cornflakes and muesli as well as countless pancakes, doughnuts and muffins went over the counter and sweetened the guests' day.
Behind the scenes, a team of over 30 colleagues worked from early in the morning to ensure that everything arrived on the plate on time and that supplies were replenished at all times.
Visitors to the Studierendenwerk info booth in the foyer also found an entertaining and informative offer.
