Large survey on the KlimaTeller

A second major canteen survey on the KlimaTeller project will take place from 21 October to 10 November 2024. The project is an initiative of NAHhaft - a non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable nutrition strategies through research, advice, education and networking. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and the National Climate Protection Initiative.

The organisers would like to use the survey to further promote the topics of environmental friendliness and sustainability in the canteens, so it is important that as many people as possible take part. The short survey asks general questions about eating habits and preferences as well as the use of the canteen. The results will then be incorporated into the further development of the KlimaTeller project, ensuring that it is implemented as closely as possible to the target group.

Goal: More climate-friendly meals

The Klimateller project aims to enable participating Studierendenwerke to implement automated CO2 balancing of their dishes and the awarding of the KlimaTeller for climate-friendly meals. This approach ensures transparent communication of the carbon footprint of all meals and makes it easier for canteen guests to choose climate-friendly dishes. A KlimaTeller causes at least 50% less CO2 than comparable, average meals. The aim of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in communal catering.

KlimaTeller comes to the Sustainability Week

Studierendenwerk Dortmund is supporting the project and, in collaboration with NAHhaft, will introduce a KlimaTeller in all canteens during Sustainability Week in June.
