  5. All wishes from the wishing tree fulfilled!

    We would like to thank all donors who have once again actively supported our "Wishing Tree" campaign over the last few days, enabling us to give needy children from Dortmund a little surprise for Christmas.     New canteen prices from January - dish of the day remains at 1.90 euros

    A sharp rise in purchasing prices coupled with a lack of state subsidies has led to a price adjustment for many canteen meals in the Studierendenwerk's facilities with effect from 1 January. Not affected by the adjustment is the "Tagwerk" dish of the day, which students can still purchase for 1.90 euros.

  8. Who will be Student of the Year 2024? Apply now!

    Who will be "Student of the Year 2024"? This year, for the ninth time, the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (Deutscher Hochschulverband, DHV) and the German Student Services (DSW) are organising the award for student commitment which they jointly launched eight years ago. The prize money amounts to 5,000 euros and is donated by the "Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft".

    In the meeting that began on Thursday afternoon, the Bundestag's Budget Committee approved numerous amendments to the draft budget by Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP). However, the committee has yet to reach a final decision. Firstly, experts are to be heard next Tuesday.

    The Studierendenwerk Dortmund welcomed more than 500 guests to Dortmund's biggest breakfast last Saturday. With bread rolls, Berliners, fried eggs and many other delicacies, the team in the main canteen offered visitors the perfect start to the TU Dortmund University Open Day. After a three-year break due to coronavirus, the popular event on campus returned for the first time.

  15. Semester kick-off in the stadium - Welcome to your studies!

    In the meantime, the first semester welcome for TU students in Dortmund's football stadium has become a real tradition. So this year, too, the new students experienced a successful start to their studies in a typical stadium atmosphere. After the cello quartet of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra performed a somewhat different interpretation of the Metallica classic "Nothing else matters", Rector Manfred Bayer welcomed the more than 3,000 students in the stands.
